Graphic Design Apparel, 2023 Elementum Jiu Jitsu
About: This large-scale project will display three entire collections of varying graphic apparel and merchandising item lines, including but not limited to gis (uniforms/kimonos), rash guards, duffel/gym bags, t-shirts, hats, and regulated competition gear. Each collection has a signature theme, while still residing in the current palettes, branding, fonts, etc. of the client’s graphic portfolio. Collection Line 1: “Strength in Kindness”. Collection Line 2: 4-Yr Anniversary Edition; honoring the celebration of the client’s ongoing business establishment. Collection Line 3: Everyday Jiujiteiro
Target Audience: Children, teens, and adults of the Winter Park Brazilian jiu jitsu community actively engaged in or in relation to a local practitioner, as well as impulse purchase buyers and collectors of apparel brand collaborations.
Importance: Brazilian jiu jitsu is a 2.8-billion-dollar industry within the 3 trillion-dollar health and healthcare market sectors, with an annual growth over 4%. according to market research conducted by IBIS World’s Martial Arts Studios. Costs included pertain to required athletic gear, training fees, lessons, and competition. Luxury gear (both aesthetic and premium quality) has dominated the growing market for sport apparel in BJJ, with consumers readily demanding and purchasing specialty designs and limited-edition item runs. Due to this momentum, fresh product designs and temporarily available collections are needed by businesses in the jiu jitsu online and physical community to remain current and successful in the merchandising sector.
Authoring Tools: Planning and project management are completed in Trello and reMarkable, rudimentary design documents and outlining within Canva and Adobe Illustrate, and the final graphic portfolio is constructed in Adobe Fresco. Apple’s Procreate was originally requested by the client, however merchandising manufacturers use Windows-based applications for seamless export.
